Well, it took nearly fourteen months, but it has finally happened. Henry has started to sleeping through the night. In his own bed. It is the miracle of all miracles. And let me tell you, it feels so awesome. I didn't realize how much it was taking out of me to wake up several times a night. To actually get out of bed and bring him to our bed. I thought when the nursing time was cut out that we were so much better. I could almost instantly go back to sleep. That was almost normal! But now...now with the no waking at all...the actual sleeping ALL NIGHT LONG. Oh lord you all, it is so awesome. The sweet feeling of being truly rested. You just don't realize how great it is until you lose it for fourteen months.
I didn't think it was possible, but I may now love the boy more. Now that he is no longer sucking the life out of me by robbing me of sleep. What a good boy.
