Oh, that's right. It's National Delurking Day! The day you, as blog readers, are contractually obligated to click on that little "post comment" link and write me one of those pesky comments telling me you are here. I know there are lots of you out there (good old Feedburner and Google Analytics tell me so!) and I am making it so easy for you. I allow anonymous comments so you don't need a google account and I don't force you do the captcha thing. Although I am about to break on that because spammers suck and they seem to LOVE my comments section. But for today I will leave it off, so that just makes it even EASIER to stop in and say you are here.
You all, I love comments. LOVE THEM. They make my heart happy. Don't you want to make my heart happy?
I was reading Temerity Jane and liked how she gave a questionnaire to her readers to give them topics to comment on. Now, don't feel any pressure to actually fill this out. All I really require is an "I'm here!". But if you want a comment with a little more substance... maybe some pizazz, you can use this to give you some ideas. Some questions are about you, so are about the blog. I will happy accept partial answers. No need to answer them all. Unless of course you want to. Then you will receive a gold star.
1. Do you remember how you found me? I would love to know!
2. Do I know you in real life? Don't be shy. I don't mind people reading who actually know me (or know OF me) from real life.
3. What is the best book you have ever read? (I need at least 21 more for 2011!)
4. Tell me something funny or interesting that has happened to you.
5. Is there something that you have done that would surprise people who know you in real life?
6. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
7. Where is he one place you want to see most in your lifetime?
8. Do you blog? Are you on twitter? How might I find you in the vast world of social media?
Okay, eight seems like a good number. Not as daunting as ten. And I am out of ideas. Feel free to pick and choose or to just leave a "Here!" but what is not an option is to not comment. Not today. Not on NATIONAL DELURKING DAY!
Happy delurking day!

Hi! I'm a lurker. I don't blog but I do enjoy reading a lot of pregnancy/parenting blogs. I found you through Jenny Coin (I think)shortly after you became pregnant with Henry. I was due right around the same time so I followed along. I, too, had difficulty getting pregnant and found comfort and hope in reading about others with similar journeys. I appreciate your sense of humor and I'm glad you dragged me out of hiding!
ReplyDeleteI love that it's delurking day and I didn't know this until right now!
ReplyDeleteBut I will go update my blog :)

Hi Sarah! I found your blog through blogger. Hmmm I have too many books to list, but right now I would recommend the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Oops time's up! Bath time here :-)
ReplyDelete1. I was reading a blog and found you through their blog roll. I do remember the first post I read was the one where you found out your IVF was successful! :)
ReplyDelete2. Nope..
3. Anything by Erynn Mangum is pretty awesome..
4. I work at a daycare- the teacher in a 2/3 class. Funny things happen all the time. Best one in the past month a little girl was rubbing a little boys shoulder and she said, "Grayson, you're so sexy." Cracked up about that one for days. :)

I used to, but now I am too lazy and have nothing to say. You can call me whenever you'd like!
I don't remember how I found your blog. Might be related to FB(?).
ReplyDeleteI knew you back in the day when we both had bad hair and I used to have sleepovers at your house.
I recently read "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" - loved it! It's not the best book I've ever read since I read a LOT and there are simply too many to choose from.
I am not a cat person. At all. Dogs are good as long as they don't shed all over me.
I want to go to Greece. A cruise through Greece sounds heavenly right now.
I blog, but have never been on twitter. That might make me a little lame.
And now I'm going to post this on my blog and try to find out who the lurkers are... thanks!
What fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a lurker, but here are my answers anyway ;)
1. Through someone else's Endo blog, but I forget whose it was exactly
2. Nope, though if I ever make it over to the US for a visit I think you would come high on my list of "fun people I've met online that I would like to meet"
3. The Brothers Lionheart by Astrid Lindgren... it is a children's book, but so beautiful that I couldn't read another book for months after finishing it (I read it when I was an adult, btw). I won't even try to summarise it... just buy a copy and read it!!!
4. I once served a man dressed as Spock... he came into the tourist office, greeted me the Vulcan way and gave me a piece of paper with some co-ordinates on. He played the whole "superior vulcan" very well when I looked at him blankly and said "erm, I don't know where this is..." and he had to tell me where he wanted to go. But he was gracious and thanked me (Vulcan style, of course) after I figured it out and gave him directions... that was the best customer I ever had!!
5. Um, this is a hard one because I am so totally honest with people that they generally know most things about me, and anything I don't tell them is waaaaaay to private to mention ;)
6. Hard call... I always thought I was a dog person, until I started "cat-sitting" for my aunt and since then I have made friends with all manner of random cats... so I'm probably a cat person at heart, but I wouldn't say no to a dog either!
7. Wow, you ask hard questions... I think, perhaps, Macchu Pichu, because I love ancient sites like that and the first time I saw a photo of it, it just blew me away.
8. I blog, you know my blog ;) I don't use twitter, never really bothered to learn how it works
Good questions... now you better return the favour at some point and answer these questions yourself!!
1. Do you remember how you found me? I would love to know!
ReplyDeleteThe 2010 Creme de la Creme. (Hi. I'm new.)
2. Do I know you in real life? Don't be shy. I don't mind people reading who actually know me (or know OF me) from real life.
No.
3. What is the best book you have ever read? (I need at least 21 more for 2011!)
I can't possibly pick just one, but the best book I've read recently is Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.
4. Tell me something funny or interesting that has happened to you.
Once I was performing in a touring production of a musical, and when I had to switch instruments I managed to not only knock the reed off the instrument I was about to play, but it fell in the bell of the instrument I had just finished playing. I had to keep going but it wasn't pretty.
5. Is there something that you have done that would surprise people who know you in real life?
It surprises lots of people that I have a tattoo.
6. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Cat. But I'm allergic so I don't have any.
7. Where is he one place you want to see most in your lifetime?
New Zealand. I was there once for a week and didn't want to leave.
8. Do you blog? Are you on twitter? How might I find you in the vast world of social media?
My blog is linked from my Wordpress ID in this comment (at least I hope so!).
Hi Sarah! I'm here! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm following along with you now as well. Let's see, to answer some of your questions:
ReplyDelete1. Aly's New Blog Friday
3. Breakfast at Tiffany's
4. I once met Warren Buffet.

1. My memory is shot. I don't even have a good guess.
ReplyDelete2. Again, memory is shot. Have we met?
3. I really loved "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver and "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Euginides, but "Fight Club" by Chuck Palahniuk wins.
4. One time I talked to Frank McCourt in an airport gift shop because I was really hungover and I recognized him so I assumed I knew him.
5. I was in a sorority. That usually throws people for a loop.
6. Both. I think I am really a dog person that happens to have two cats. A lazy dog person?
7. Italy
8. Yes! Yes. Where should I begin? Sarah and the Goon Squad, Draft Day Suit, BlogHer, @goonsquadsarah, Hot Metal Street... I could go on, but I am boring myself.
1. Found you on some random blog hop, I was hooked!
ReplyDelete2. Nope, don't know you irl
3. Best book EVER? Tough call probably a collected work of Arthur Miller or The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
4. Interesting at least to me anyway is that random kids like to hold my hand. At the park, at playgroup, wherever kids congregate they like to hold my hand. I've heard from more than one mom 'wow, I've never seen her/him do that before!'
5. Surprising? I am so predictable it's not even funny. But I suppose it was getting pregnant the first time. None of my friends were even close to ready to have a baby.
6. I love both cats and dogs but if I had to choose between the two I'd go with a cat but only because they don't need to be walked every day even when it's -20 degrees outside.
7. Ireland, I've wanted to go forever. We're planning a trip for this year, can't wait!
8. I blog here: http://jennoreilly.wordpress.com
I'm a twitter resister, everyone says I'll cave eventually but I can't see that happening.
That was fun, thanks!
1. you told me to read your blog :)
ReplyDelete2. Yes, sister in law, i know you in real life.
3. The Princess Bride. Probably because it is also my favorite movie. Plenty of other good ones to go with it.
4. Today I was an idiot and hide the cable remote from myself. I searched the house, blamed the dog for snatching it, had Arielle over who helped me look for it too, alas, it was under my clutch on the coffee table. I'm an idiot.
5. Probably not. I'm very vanilla. AND if I do something stupid or risky, I'll tell you before you even ask. lol Maybe thats a flaw....
6. DOG.
7. Czech Republic
8. Facebook is all I have bc i might get addicted to twitter if i sign up.
Love ya!
I found you through ICLW. I don't think I know you personally. I can't pick one "best book ever," but I will say that one of the best books I've read recently is "The Lost City of Z." It's non-fiction that blends the story of Percy Fawcett, an explorer who disappeared in the Amazon jungle in the early 20th century; the obsession of some people to find out what happened to him; and the author's own perilous journey into the Amazon. It's really engaging.
ReplyDeleteFun!!
ReplyDelete1. Hmmm, Im not sure--but Im so glad I did!
2. No, but Id like to!
3. Sounds silly, but its Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume
4. Ive been struck by lightening
5. That I have a tattoo and I want to get another one
6. Dog
7. Italy
8. Yup and Yup!
As usual I am late! So this is a late delurking comment.
