So I know my last two posts were pretty emotional, so I felt the need to drop in and say I am doing okay. Really great, even. Friday after I posted I received a wonderful thank you note from a student that meant so much to me, then I went to the end of the year awards ceremony for our college and I WON AN AWARD.
Look, that's me, GETTING A MAJOR AWARD FROM THE DEAN. And typically I would use the words "Major Award" in jest, but this time I ACTUALLY MEAN IT. It's a big deal! So, that's exciting. (!!!)
After that we rolled into Mother's Day weekend which, in all honesty was one of the best I have ever had. We went to lunch on Saturday with my mom and then on Sunday Nick made breakfast, then we had a tball game (that did not go so well, but LET'S NOT DWELL ON THAT!) and then Nick grilled out for dinner. It was all amazing! For the first year in the last several we were not insanely overwhelmed with birthday planning (because I finally learned my lesson and started preparing early, not because we stopped being insane with birthday parties) and it was just... really really nice.
Not to mention Henry gave me this list of reasons he loves me and, well, I cried. Like big tears. Because I am a sap. And also, a mother.
Then, the week began and, well, we ARE a little crazy with party prep. Not over the top crazy, but a manageable, no time for blogging, sorta crazy. Add in that I am also co-hosting a bridal shower this weekend and moving offices at work this week and I am a little overwhelmed, but all is well. Prepare yourself for lots of birthday related posts in coming days! Our boy is about to turn seven. (SEVEN!!)
